The only thing I knew about the far south was that it's supposed to be some very good hiking there. I made my way up lake Wakatipu through Glenorchy to the start of the famous Routeburn track. It was a good hike, although everything in my pack got soaking wet of the rain. There was heaps of rain! I went to the closest town to dry my gear and prepare for the next hike. Te Anau is a small town right by the Fiordland national park. I started the Kepler track and got amazing weather. This is by far my favorite hike in New Zealand. I
pitched my tent in the mountains and woke up early to watch the sunrise. When you're out there it's just you and the mountains. It is for sure an incredible feeling.
After the hike I hitched to Dunedin with a backpacker named Lucas. We walked up the worlds steepest street and I had a good feeling about the city. Dunedin was actually a city unlike most of the places on the south island. When I was chillin' on the couch a guy walked in whose face seamed familiar. It was Will a guy from Maine in the US that I met earlier in Te Anau. Later I was gonna find out that it was not the last time for that to happen...
